"It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to
succeed."
--Theodore Roosevelt, Chicago, IL, April 10, 1899
Reared in Pennsylvania, near Philly, I went to California to make my mark upon
the world. Having appeared in a few print ads for the Japanese Liquor markets,
and an extra role in a failed TV series, I fled Hollywood for the friendlier
environs of Largo, Florida.
I wasted a decade making little money, and reading every spare moment - my
greatest joy!
I bought a 'Pooter and found the Internet in 1997. My Sweet Patootie and I met
in an online Trivia game in 1998, whereupon I lost my marbles completely and
proposed to her within a few months. In the meantime I had attempted to write an
article for an Historical publication about a little-remembered battle during
the American Revolution. That quickly spun out of control and became a short
story. Nope. That wasn't any good either. So I did my research, wrote my Great
American Novel, and was rejected! End of the dream, huh?
Sweet Patootie sent me a URL for a short story she liked online. One of those
darned banner ads announced "F2K" and I took a gander. I joined! Hey! Cool
Beans! I went through it twice, and joined WVU in 2001, whereupon I immediately
became a pain in the Toches at the Chats.
Not long ago I was invited to join the WVU Chat Team by Judy and have been
trying to behave myself ever since! Judy later asked me to become the "WVU Hall
of Fame Seneschal" as well. So, I get to wander the Hall, dust the display
cases, and rattle my virtual keys! A nice place to visit and see how well our
members have done!
So far WVU's been a wonderful experience and a boon to my writing! Lots of nice
people and talented writers here. Write On, people!
