Melissa Anne Hatten

Hi everyone. My name is Melissa Anne. I was born in Texas, raised in North Louisiana and I, now, live in Texas, again. I have always felt like one of the greatest gifts God has given me was the desire to read. Reading let me be anyone I wanted to be; let me go anywhere I wanted to go; and let me do anything I ever wanted to do.

But over the years, God has given me another desire. Now, I have to write. I want to share my dreams, my goals, my needs, my desires, my wants, and my fantasies with others through my writing.

I started years ago writing poems. Most of them were funny poems. Occasionally, I wrote sad poems. But all came from the heart. I have started my first two novels. Yes, I know I need to finish one before starting the other.

I found WVU after searching the web for information on writing fiction. I took F2K for two sessions and it changed my life. After the first F2K session, I joined WVU and started taking classes. Now, I had a chance to share my work with other beginning writers. We learn so much from each other and I have made wonderful friendships that I hope will last a lifetime.

Some of my other hobbies are sewing, quilting, camping, and fishing. Oh, yes, I, also, play the dulcimer and autoharp. (Yes, I stay busy. You know what they say about "Idle hands.")
