Hi! When you enter a room, look in the corner for the person with the book. That will be me, Christine. I am addicted to reading. Besides this addiction, I love music, poetry, animals, and travel. I tell people that I am a 'stray' magnet - if there is a needy animal or person within 10 miles, it will find me. Currently I have 4 cats and 1 dog - but who knows what will show up tonight! Other pertinent facts - I am 51 years young, divorced, mother of two adult children, and have 2 terrific grandchildren. . Born in San Antonio, an "Air Force Brat", I moved 21 times before I was 16. Then I married and anchored myself in Arkansas. Staying in one place when I was used to so much change was hard, and I found that although I couldn't change WHERE I lived, I could CHANGE where I lived, and developed another hobby - remodeling. When divorced 5 years ago, my long suppressed muse finally freed herself, and I joined a local writers' support group. I have served 2 years as Treasurer of that group, 1 year as Secretary, and is currently the Vice President. If there is any message to readers, it would be to find or start such a group. This column will try to motivate and support all poets, as well as act as a sounding board for ideas and opinions. Feedback is not only encouraged, it is necessary. My Web Page is being developed- watch for it! Meantime, I can be reached at christine@wvu.org. Comments, questions, and/or suggestions for or about the column are welcome. | ||||
