A goal is a dream with a deadline.

Hi! My name is Judy. I was born and raised in Minnesota, USA. Realizing early on that I liked the educational process, I obtained degrees in both Health Education and Physical Education. Unfortunately, within a year I recognized that elementary and high school education did not meet my needs; I was focusing more on discipline than teaching, so I moved on. Drifting from job to job, searching for my true calling, fate summoned me to the Photography field. At 34 years old, I finally found what I wanted to be when I grew up.

Soon after I turned 40, I was confronted with a crossroad in my life. Due to a diagnosis of a rare neurological condition (Syringomyelia), I had to quit the job I loved.  Not to be beaten, I truly did "make lemons out of lemonade". Having always loved writing, I discovered all that the Internet had to offer and found myself at WVU's doorstep. I finally had the time to devote all my energies to my lifelong dream of writing.  There really is a rainbow amidst the storm clouds.

I've been told that I have a Type A personality, an obsessive need to keep busy with something I love. I started out volunteering as a mentor when we first began the Mentor Program in the summer of 1998. In May 1999, Site Support Services opened up a new realm of assistance for all WVU members.  If you ever have a question or concern, feel free to contact me  The only silly question is one that isn't asked.  :-)
