WRITERS' VILLAGE IS PROUD TO INTRODUCE
YOU TO:
Catherine Manning
Barbados
cath@wvu.org
My name is Catherine Manning, normally called Cath or Catherine. Very
rarely called Cathy and sometimes Kate by certain people.
I was born in Barbados and apart from four years in England doing
nursing (S.R.N) at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, Berkshire,
have lived here all my live. I have travelled extensively, but still have
not made it to Australia, New Zealand or Alaska, which would be nice!
I'm divorced with three grown up 'children'. No grandchildren yet, but
Natalie (the youngest) is getting married on December 30th. They all tell
me not to hold my breath, but I would love a grandchild. At the moment, I
make do with my sister's two. I'm getting old at 57 to be waiting for a
grandchild! Bringing children into the world as it is now is not easy, so
I can't blame them.
I've always been a voracious reader. I don't ever remember not being able
to read and I read everything I put my hands on. I put aside Mills and Boon
at eight! I've always wanted to write and back in 1999, I was browsing and
put in www.writing.com and came up with
Fiction 99 and immediately joined.
I did one course and then mentored a session. After that I started doing the
column for T-zero.
My wish is that I had the time to sit and concentrate on writing, maybe one
day! If you have the time and really want to write, do it.
Good luck!
Cath
