"What a man most wishes to hide, revise and un-say, is precisely what Literature is waiting and bleeding for . . ." - Jack Kerouac Hello everyone! My name is Janet and I live in Chilliwack, B.C. Canada. Majestic, awe-inspiring mountains surround me. A 'perfect' afternoon for me would be to sit in the sun, by the edge of a peaceful lake, facing the snow-capped mountain peaks, book to one side of me . . . . pen and paper to the other. I was born in Newcastle, England, and moved to Canada at the young and influential age of nine. I have many vivid memories of medieval castles and historic sites. I was very fortunate to tour England and Scotland from one end to the other during my early years . I experienced the 'feelings' from the times of the Druids at Stonehenge when laying upon the sacrificial stone slabs. The stinging spray of salt water upon my face captured the adventurous spirit of my heart as I stood on the rugged coast of Tintagel, among the ancient ruins of King Arthur's Castle. I would close my eyes whilst standing upon battlefields, hearing the cries of the wounded and the dying. To this day, I can lose myself in those times of long ago. . . Yikes . . . Janet is at it again! So much to write and so little time. Ever since I can remember I have loved to read. As a child I would read my Brer Rabbit books and Enid Blyton stories over and over again. "Pocket money day" to me would mean a trip up to the corner shop to buy my weekly comic books. I would get lost in the fantasies written for a child's world. I believe it was my love of books that led to my desire to write. I know that you will all enjoy this course immensely, as I did. It will give you the confidence and drive to write without reservation. Creative writing is wonderful, in that, anything goes! I will be more than happy to help you, and answer any questions you may have pertaining to F2K and 'our love of writing'!!
